It was a very quick procedure, the anesthesia took much longer than the stent. Dr. Wan thought it went well, and now they will monitor the output for the next 48-72 hours. The hope is that she fills the catheter bag and the drainage bag slowly dries up. The stent takes away any resistance to the bladder, so the urine should preferentially exit through her bladder instead of the hole in her kidney. This will allow her kidney time to heal, and the stent will be removed in 3-6 weeks (depending on how she's doing).
Her initial wake up was a bit rough, crying a little but no yelling. And now that the procedure is over, Eila got to eat again. We had order a dinner to be delivered after surgery (spaghetti) and she had requested a cupcake (I had walked to a bakery this morning to get her one). It was great to see her eating again.

Although this is not the first time Eila's had a catheter, she immediately commented on it so this could be a long couple of days. But hopefully tomorrow will be a relaxing day hanging out at the hospital watching her drainage bag dry up ...
