Christmas 2008, Part II

From Christmas 2008

We have so many pictures, and I hit publish too soon on the last post.

Annikka enjoyed dancing on her new "Baby Jamz" mat. Thanks Aunt Kirsten for the new noisy battery-powered toy. And of course she loves it.

Break dancing?

Mommy and Uncle Aaron worked on assembling the new kitchen from Grandma and Grandpa. It has been a BIG hit with everyone. Annikka absolutely loves it; and it's been lots of fun for us to watch her using her imagination.

Annikka enjoyed the packaging for her gifts, too; it doubles the toys.

We went skiing with Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kristin, too. The weather brought a lot of snow, so the non-skiers ended up playing inside a lot.

Annikka was really happy to see Daddy and Uncle Aaron when they came back from skiing.

And although I can't ski, these pictures sure make me wish I could.

Hope you all had a great Christmas, too.

Annikka had a very busy Christmas with lots of visitors. Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kristin came to visit for an entire week, and Annikka loved the extra attention.

The next time we're all together there will be some boy cousins for Annikka to play with.

And we also got to celebrate with Great-uncle Dan, Lori, and Aunt Rachel.

Grandma and Grandpa's cats aren't as fond of Annikka how that she can move, so they tried to hide under the tree. But she found them.

Also

A few other random things to share...

Annikka loves books, so our days contain a lot of reading. In the last few weeks, she's begun expressing more and more preferences. For instance, you can't pick up just any book to read now, Annikka chooses. We read her (current) favorite book, There was an old lady who sallowed a fly, at least half a dozen times a day.

When she's not busy finding the cats, she also enjoys showing you her tongue, taking baths, and singing ring-around-the-rosey. She knows the "ashes, ashes" part and will sing it over and over.

It's amazing how quickly she changes, and it's all a lot of fun.

Snow day #3

From December 2008

Today was our third snow day this week, so once again Annikka and Mommy got to spend the day together. Luckily, Mommy finished making Annikka's new hat in time for all the snow.

From December 2008

Today we went over to visit Hirut and Amani (and their mommy Steph). It was almost as if daycare (where we normally get to play with Hirut and Amani) wasn't closed.

We also played practice kitchen, stacking rings, in boxes, with playdough, with the car (which Annikka now pushes by herself)...

I think this week of snow has brought the most disruption to the cats' lives. Annikka loves them so much, and they've been real troopers.
