It's a packed house here in Corvallis on the eve of Annikka's birthday and Eila's surgery.
Both of my parents are here. My mom is staying over to help take care of Annikka this week while Dana and I are an in Portland. My dad is here to help with a home improvement project. We're converting the storage room off our garage into a guest bedroom so my parents (and other visitors) have a room to stay in over the coming months as they help take care of Eila. Up until now, my parents have had to sleep on our couch. In about a week they'll have their own separate room.
Anyway, it's good to have everyone here before Eila's surgery.
Quick update before we tuck in for the night:
Dana and I had a conference call with Eila's oncologist (Dr. Thomas) and surgeon (Dr. Zallen) this afternoon. Everything is set for tomorrow (Tuesday). We're scheduled to check in at 12:30 for a 2:00 operation. We've been told to expect a several hour-long procedure. We'll post an update as soon as we have one.
Thanks, everyone, for the messages, dinners, cards, and thoughts.
PS: It's 10:45pm, and Eila is still awake in her crib. She can't eat tomorrow after 6:30am, so we're going to have one tired and hungry kid on our hands for what's sure to be a LONG morning.
