Clap your hands
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're happy and you know it, then your face will surely show it ...

Easter baskets & egg hunts
From March/April 2011
Easter morning started earlier than Joel or I would have liked, but it was fun seeing the girls with their Easter baskets.

Contrary to what Annikka might tell you, her basket had more than candy in it but apparently the candy made a bigger impact.

This was the first year that we tried doing Easter egg hunts. First, there was one held at our church. Annikka had a lot of fun finding eggs.

And we came home with more than enough candy.

Eila also participated, finding a very cleverly placed egg. :)

And she was given another by Cameron, the boy who was the acolyte the night before at her baptism.

We had another egg hunt at a friend's house that afternoon. Each preschooler was given a picture and clue to lead them to an egg.

Annikka's clue:
Buddha came around to ease the suffering of women and men
And we'd be glad to see him if he came around again
Your treasure is around him, near his big fat tummy
And if you look inside you'll find something that is yummy

It was a busy but fun day.

Baptism
From March/April 2011
Eila was baptized tonight at the Easter vigil service.
From March/April 2011
Although it was a bit challenging to have the girls up late (turns out the Easter vigil service is much longer than a 3 1/2 year old or 10 1/2 month old can possibly sit through), it all went well.

Peek-a-boo
Eila has been playing peek-a-boo for months (probably since she was 4 months old or so), but for some reason we never recorded it before now.

Easter eggs
From March/April 2011
were dyed at our house today. I don't think Annikka remembered doing it last year, but she did a good job. And she was very excited to learn that pink and blue make purple!
From March/April 2011
Eila liked the colorful eggs and may have been interested in trying to help put stickers on them. But she did what any 10 1/2 month old might do with 2 objects in her hands, she banged them together (you can see the green egg didn't fare well from the experience).
From March/April 2011
So we left the stickers to Annikka.

Self feeding?
From March/April 2011
No, not really. But she's willing to get messy.
From March/April 2011
I think 2, maybe 3, spoonfuls made it into her mouth.
