Annikka and I are taking swimming classes again.

She really enjoys being in the pool, even when it's time for the one-on-one demos with the instructor.

Hello?

From December 2008

Annikka thinks the word for phone is "hello." Ha! It's one of her two made up words that we've deciphered. The other is "bosch," which is her word for pacifier. We have no idea where she came up with that.

We'll talk soon.

New bling-bling

Annikka got lots of musical gifts for Christmas, which has been great because she really loves music. Here's a cute video that Aaron took of her dancing at Christmas.

Catchy song, don't you think? :)

Birds of a feather?

Although Anani is the typically the huggable cat, Oliver has finally realized his bond with Annikka, their tummies. They share a love of snacks and are always ready for a drink. Oliver has learned that he should check in with Annikka when she has food because she is usually happy to share with her kitty (she'll even try to offer him her cup).

And they often team up to try to get to the water in the humidifier (although luckily they are still unsuccessful).

Playdates & stroller rides

Although Zane has moved out of town, we were able to arrange a big playdate with "old" friends (Annikka, Jessica, and Zane--all over 12 months old now). Boy, is it hard to get 3 mobile babies together in 1 picture.

Annikka goes on a stroller ride almost everyday at daycare, and she loves them. She has recently discovered that she can take her baby on a stroller ride too. Although you may notice that her baby doesn't always ride in the traditional seat.

Christmas 2008, Part II

From Christmas 2008

We have so many pictures, and I hit publish too soon on the last post.

Annikka enjoyed dancing on her new "Baby Jamz" mat. Thanks Aunt Kirsten for the new noisy battery-powered toy. And of course she loves it.

Break dancing?

From Christmas 2008

Mommy and Uncle Aaron worked on assembling the new kitchen from Grandma and Grandpa. It has been a BIG hit with everyone. Annikka absolutely loves it; and it's been lots of fun for us to watch her using her imagination.

Annikka enjoyed the packaging for her gifts, too; it doubles the toys.

We went skiing with Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kristin, too. The weather brought a lot of snow, so the non-skiers ended up playing inside a lot.

Annikka was really happy to see Daddy and Uncle Aaron when they came back from skiing.

And although I can't ski, these pictures sure make me wish I could.

Annikka had a very busy Christmas with lots of visitors. Uncle Aaron and Aunt Kristin came to visit for an entire week, and Annikka loved the extra attention.

And we also got to celebrate with Great-uncle Dan, Lori, and Aunt Rachel.

Grandma and Grandpa's cats aren't as fond of Annikka how that she can move, so they tried to hide under the tree. But she found them.
