I still remember being very surprised at how soon after we moved to Corvallis we received our first post card about jury duty; we had lived in MN for so long and never got one. And although I had received the notice several times, today we the first time my number had ever been selected to actually go in. I was chosen to be one of the twelve people questioned by the attorneys, and then surprised to be selected as one of the six jurors for the day (guess having a lawyer for a husband wasn't a drawback).
It was a very interesting experience and I'm glad I got to find out a little more about how it all works. Luckily it was only a one day trial, and now I get a 2 year break.
