Eila's loose tooth finally fell out today! It had been getting very loose and making it a bit hard for her to eat at times, so she was ready for it to come out. She was going to have Joel pull it out, but he suggested she try pushing on it for a little while. As we talked about the best ways to push on it, and she suddenly announced it was out.
She is so very excited. Annikka helped her rinse the blood from her mouth and then spelled out the words for her to write a note to the tooth fairy (she wants the tooth fairy to draw a picture of what she looks like). She just had a dentist appointment the other day (he also offered to pull it out, but then back down when Eila said okay) and she got a special little tooth-shaped box.
She has been bouncing all around the house with excitement tonight and is not sure if she'll be able to sleep tonight, but really wants the tooth fairy to come. And of course she can't wait for school again on Monday so that she can show everyone that she now has 19 teeth instead of 20 (an interesting fact she figured out since the dentist had just counted her teeth).
