O Christmas Tree

From Nov/Dec2011

This year we decided to make getting the Christmas tree more of an adventure, so we ventured out to an urban tree farm. It was a cold day, but we bundled up and had a great time looking for trees with the Power family.

We even got a hayride, candy canes, and hot cocoa.

But the real excitement started after we got home and put the tree up. Eila couldn't believe that there was a tree in the house - she must have walked around the living and dining rooms for over 30 minutes shouting "tree, tree"!

Annikka was so excited to decorate the tree. And she was a very good big sister, showing Eila how to put the ornaments on.

However, Eila's ornaments were having a hard time staying on the tree.

Eila eventually got the hang of it, although she thought removing the ornaments was just as much fun as putting them up (which made Annikka's job even bigger).

I'm a big fan of Christmas, and now each year with the girls, it's filled with more joy and wonder. It's such fun to get to start our day by the tree.
