I can't believe it's the end of October, the weeks are moving quickly. We are happy to report that Eila's still doing well. Today's appointment included an ultrasound of her lower belly, checking the area where they removed her kidney and tumor, as well as her remaining right kidney. Apparently Wilms tumor is relatively fast growing, so it's standard procedure to check for growth after surgery and treatment (and we'll have more of these checks in her future). Although Eila didn't enjoy the ultrasound, we were very happy to learn that they didn't find anything to be concerned about and we're simply continuing on with her current course of treatment.
Today's appointment was also unusual because we went to the infusion unit for the first time. Eila's chemo is quick, taking less than 10 minutes, so we usually stay in the exam rooms for it. But the clinic was busy today, so we got to see the other side of the floor (probably doesn't look that much different to you).
